I just tweeted about this, but here’s the blog post version:
I GOT THE DOMAIN! I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
https://paint.net is now the website for Paint.NET! Well, once I get content migrated and redirects set up, etc. For the moment it’s just a “hey go over here to getpaint.net” redirect page.

Congratulations!! I have always wondered whether that was a goal. Every few years I have to re-install Paint.net (yes I have been using it for that long) and have to try to remember the URL, only to end up Googling, which isn’t super long, probably less long than writing this comment, BUT IT’S THE PRINCIPLE THAT MATTERS 😉
Nice try, but it’s too late to migrate because everybody’s used to getpaint-net domain. Though I often make type of getpain-net and get redirected somewhere else. So maybe new domain will work better for me.
@HUGO, ask Grok for help if you get lost on the Internet.
It’s not too late, not sure why you’d think that. Redirection is easy enough to set up. getpaint.net/* can just redirect to paint.net/*.
What’s the rest of the story for the rest of us that have abandoned the platform formerly known as Twitter?
Found it. https://bsky.app/profile/rickbrew.bsky.social/post/3mmz73u6lzs2t
